Pistol, revolver missing from Central Ordnance Depot in Kanpur

A pistol and a revolver have been found missing from the arsenal of Central Ordnance Depot (COD) here, police said today.
Lt Col Ramendra Singh of the Central Ordnance Depot yesterday filed a complaint with Rail Bazar police station that a pistol and a revolver have gone missing from the arsenal of the COD, a police spokesperson said.
He said the incident came to the fore during counting.
ASP Sushil Dhule, Circle Officer, Cantt police station, said, "The disappearance of a pistol and revolver from the COD is a serious matter. A committee has been formed, which is probing the matter."

Sources say that it is the handiwork of some employee of the Depot as no outsider can gain entry into the arsenal.
