The plane was reported missing after it took off from Loreto, in Baja California Sur state.
"We have a report that a small aircraft with the tag XATXM, and with 14 people aboard, is missing," Enrique Avalos, a Baja California Sur state transport official, told reporters yesterday.
There was no immediate word on passengers on the plane which belongs to the Guerrero charter company that flies between Baja California Sur and Sinaloa and Sonora states.
Loreto has about 10,000 people and is a popular resort destination especially for Americans and Canadians.
