Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade today said playing in the ongoing ODI tri-series against India and South Africa has enhanced his skills as the heat and humidity of Chennai has been among the toughest conditions to master.
Wade scored a 130-run knock as Australia thrashed the South Africans by 108 runs.
"There are differences from country to country but it was a big turnover coming to Chennai. If your skills are stronger, the batters can stay for a longer time at the wicket. When you play Test cricket generally and know the wickets in England for the last few weeks but the wickets are usually pretty good at the Test level
Wade said he is hoping to be a part of the Australia senior team's ODI team, which will be playing in England after Ashes series, riding on his good performance here.
"Getting a chance to play for Australia is a good opportunity. I will put my hand up and take that opportunity," he said.
On his century today, Wade said, "I am happy that I got a century plus score today.
