The matter would be taken up for consideration by a division bench comprising Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice R S Endlaw.
The petition filed by Satyamev Jayate Foundation, a Delhi-based social organisation, has sought the court's direction for cancelling the licence of the liquor shop in Sunlight Colony in south Delhi.
"Due to opening of the retail liquor vend in the area which is near a girl's school, temple, mosque as well as a hospital... The same is leading to building up of social unrest and tension which may lead to a law and order situation and some untoward incident," it said.
It has termed the issue of licence as "grossly negligent, callous and deliberate inaction and abdication of public duty" on the part of the authorities.
