Vishweshatheertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt today suggested formation of district level all-religion committees to look into the issue of forcible conversion.
Speaking to reporters here, the Swamiji said the committees should comprise representatives of all communities besides a government nominee and it should make in depth inquiry into incidents of conversions and suggest action.
The committee should visit places where conversions take place and ensure that no forcible conversions were made. Such incidents would only end up in chaos and anarchy, he said.
He said he would not lead the re-conversion process but would take part in the process if someone wilfully decided to go back to his or her original religion.
