"On #NationalPanchayatiRajDay, I salute all the hardworking individuals (who are) serving the people through Panchayati Raj institutions across India," he tweeted.
"Panchayats are effective ways to fulfil aspirations of people in rural India. They are playing a vital role in India's transformation," he added.
He said his government, through all-round progress and grassroots-level participation, is working towards making 'Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday' (development of village will develop India) campaign a reality.
The campaign, launched by the Prime Minister in April last year, aims at generating nation-wide efforts to strengthen Panchayati Raj, promote rural development, and foster farmers' progress.
