Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would lay the foundation stones of four projects, including National Cancer Institute, in Haryana's Jhajjar district on January 3.
The Prime Minister would lay foundation stones of National Cancer Institute, Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership, Government College and upgradation of Bahadurgarh-Badli-Chandu-Gurgaon road at Jasaur Kheri village in Jhajjar, Rohtak MP, Deepender Singh Hooda said today.
Hooda said that the 710-bedded National Cancer Institute would be country's first cancer hospital in government sector and a sum of about Rs 2,035 crore would be spent on it.
"The Cancer Institute would be set up at AIIMS-II in Badhsa, district Jhajjar. This institute would be set up within 45 months and would benefit the people of the entire country," he said in a release.
"This institute being set up in Haryana would prove to be a milestone in the field of prevention of cancer, its treatment, education and research," he further said.
The Congress MP said the Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership would be for research based on nuclear science.
The centre would have institutions like College of Advanced Nuclear Energy System Studies, College of Nuclear Security Studies, College on Radiological Safety Studies, College of Nuclear Material Characterization Studies and College for Studies on Applications of Radioisotopes and Radiation Technologies where research would be conducted on study and use of various aspects of atomic energy.
"This centre costing over Rs 1,000 crore would be set up over 225 acres of land. The scientists of countries who have nuclear deal with India could conduct research in this institute," he said.
The Bahadurgarh-Gurgaon via Chandu-Badli road near Jasaur Kheri village would cost Rs 244 crore, he added.
