Police abort attempt of kidnapping

Police today aborted an attempt of kidnapping of a girl by three youths in Sopore township of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Umar Maqbool Lone along with two brothers Aaqib Hassan Rather and Umar Hassan Rather were nabbed when they attempted to abduct a girl near a bank in Sopore town, 55 km from here, a police spokesman said.
The trio, hailing from different parts of Sopore, were travelling in a private car, the spokesman said, adding police were investigating the matter.
"A case under various Sections of Ranbir Penal code has been registered and further investigations are on," the spokesman said.
