Police begin process to issue 2nd lookout notice against Remo

Goa Police has initiated the process to issue a second lookout notice against noted pop singer Remo Fernandes in a case where he is accused of threatening a minor girl, while his son failed to turn up for questioning in the matter today.
The 62-year-old singer has been booked by police for allegedly verbally abusing and threatening a minor girl in state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital, where she was undergoing treatment after being hit by the car driven by his son Johan on December 2.
"We have initiated process of issuing lookout notice (against Remo) to all airport immigrations and sea port check posts across the country," Agassaim Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi said today.

Agassaim Police had issued a lookout notice against the singer who had not responded to two summons seeking his appearance on December 23.
After the first look out noticed was issued against Remo, his lawyer had informed police that the pop singer would be available for questioning after January 8.
His son Johan was questioned by police on December 23 and was called again. He, however, did not turn up today for the questioning, police said.

In a letter written to police through his lawyer, Jonah has today said since he has prior appointment he would not be able to remain present.

Remo was booked under the stringent Goa Children's Act, 2003 for an offence which is non-bailable.
The Mapusa Police have booked Johan for rash driving, while Agassaim Police filed a complaint against Remo for abusing the girl.
Police have already recorded the statement of the girl and her elder sister, who hail from Malvan town in adjoining Maharashtra.
The statements of the GMCH staff, who were on duty when the incident happened, have also been recorded.
