A trader, who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances 14 days ago, has been brought back from Nepal where he had gone to evade people from whom he had taken loan worth crores of rupees, police said today.
"Devendra Kumar, a resident of Rohini and having a shop in Khari Baoli, was missing since August 18 after his car, with keys in the ignition, was found in Pandav Nagar area," a senior police officer said.
This led to fears that he was kidnapped, following which a case was registered at Lahori Gate police station and a search was launched to trace him.
During investigations, police found that he had borrowed huge amount of money, running into crores of rupees.
Police tried to locate him through surveillance of his mobile phone, which was found to be switched off, but his last location was traced in Noida, he said.
Police, during the probe, also found that Devendra's passport was also missing and when they started their investigations in this direction, he was finally traced in Nepal, the officer said, adding that he was brought back to Delhi and no action has been taken against him as there was no complaint against him.
