Police busts fake liquor gang

Two persons were arrested here for being allegedly involved in making fake high brand whiskies by using inferior liquor.
According to Superintendent of Police Simmardeep Singh, some persons were in a business of smuggling cheap brand of liquor at a residence in Sector-2 of Urban Estate and used to sell it after repacking as premier brands.
Acting on a tip off, police raided the house number 507, Sector-2 and arrested Ravi Kumar, resident of Saunti (Karnal) and Brij Pal of Jharoli Kalan (UP), from the spot.
Over 500 holograms, 700 bottle caps of different brands, 300 empty whisky bottles, 250 different whisky labels and 632 empty boxes of various brands of whiskies were recovered from the site.

The SP said kingpin of the gang Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Panipat, was still absconding, and efforts are being made to arrest him.
Both the arrested accused were presented before the local court which sent them to police remand for two days.
