Police constable feared drowned in creek

A 28-year-old constable was feared drowned in the Gaimukh creek here in the early hours today, police said.
Bharat D Raote, attached to the Thane Police Commissionerate was on sick leave since September 24, went to the Gaimukh creek early this morning along with his friends.
While trying to answer the nature's call, he apparently slipped into the water and got washed away at around 3 AM today, a police control room official said.
Raote's friends informed police about the mishap.
The fire brigade and police have launched a search to trace him, Thane Municipal Corporation's regional disaster management cell chief Santosh Kadam said.
