Police fire rubber bullets to disperse mob

Police fired rubber bullets and used lathicharge to disperse a mob which tried to gherao a police station in this district of Uttar Pradesh, alleging misuse of official machinery in the polls for block head slated for next month.
The incident took place this evening near Dharmsinghwa when a former MLA and his supporters reached the police station and went out of control after alleged misbehaviour of police, police said.
The police had to use lathicharge and firing rubber bullets to control the situation, police said.
Senior officials have reached the spot, where tension prevailed.
