Police sub-inspector Sadhana Ingle of the Rabodi police station told PTI that the accused married in 2013.
He began demanding more dowry from his wife.
Later, he began torturing her by making other men rape her after offering her cold drinks laced with sedatives and thus forced her into the flesh trade, the complaint said.
After videographing his wife in such a condition, he threatened that if she failed to fulfill his demands, he would post her videos on social network sites, the police said.
The Rabodi police has registered an offence under Sections 498-A and Section 328 of the Indian Penal Code as well as Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) against the accused.
