A police jawan was today injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Narayanpur district.
The incident took place when security forces were patrolling near AmdaiGhati(valley) under Chhote Dongar police station where road construction work is underway, Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena told PTI.
The construction work is going on on Narayanpur-Orchha road inthe Amdairegion, around 350 kms away from the state capital.
While the personnel were passing through a patch on the Amdaivalley, the ultras detonated a powerful IED leaving constable Naresh Chaudhary injured, he said.
About 200 meter long electric wire was found from the spot which suggests that the blast was triggered from inside the jungle, he said.
The injured was airlifted to Raipur for treatment, he said.
Meanwhile, a combing operation has been launched in the region to nab the attackers, the SP added.
