Police raid at hotel, 18 couples held

Police today conducted a raid at a hotel near the main bus stand here and arrested 18 young couples in "objectionable positions".
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the hotel and nabbed the couples, aged between 17-20, city police commissioner P S Gill said.
The arrested included girls, who are students of schools, colleges and vocational institutions and even some of them belonged to elite families from the city, Gill said.
The hotel manager has also been arrested and a case has been lodged in this connection, the top cop added.
