Police rescue stolen child, couple arrested

A couple was today arrested for allegedly stealing an 18-month-old boy, who was rescued by police here.
Jitendra and his wife Shabbo were arrested from their house in Ram Park and the toddler Priyanshu rescued from a house in Pavi Sadakpur village here, SHO of Tronica city police station, Sheelesh Yadav said.
Sanju, Priyanshu's father, in a missing complaint had alleged that Shabbo, their former neighbour, had stolen the child from outside their house in Pooja colony on November 13.
During interrogation, Shabbo confessed of stealing the toddler, he said, adding that on the basis of information provided by her, the child was rescued from the house of a relative of the couple.

The toddler was identified as Priyanshu and handed-over to his family after completing legal formalities, Yadav said.
The couple in being interrogated as it is suspected that they are associated with a child-stealing gang, the SHO said.
