Police filed an application seeking the custody remand of three shopkeepers-- Sandeep, Ashok and Sanjay, yesterday. Chief Judicial Magistrate Sunder Lal will hear the application tomorrow.
The three shopkeepers were booked last week for allegedly circulating the video on social media in Kailawada village and police had also seized a computer, memory card and other accessories during a search operation in this connection, the official said.
A married woman was allegedly raped by two men two years ago. The accused had allegedly also filmed the entire incident and circulated the clip on the social media and blackmailed her since then.
This is the second such case in Muzaffarnagar district. A 40-year-old married health worker had allegedly committed suicide on January 13 after the video of her gangrape was uploaded on social media.
