Police today informed the Kerala High Court that it has received 'crucial' information in the case related to the missing of a 20-year old woman since March this year and sought more time to complete the investigation.
The submission was made before Justice Sunil Thomas during the hearing of a petition by the brother of the woman seeking a CBI investigation.
Police also submitted a report on progress of the investigation so far, following which the Judge adjourned the matter to August 2 for next hearing.
The woman, a second-year B.Com student, went missing on March 22 while on her way to her aunt's house at Mundakkayam in Kottayam district.
Petitioner Jais John James sought a CBI probe, contending that the Special Investigation Team constituted to probe the case could not make headway.
