Tightening its noose against people involved in violation of traffic rules, police has challaned 294 vehicles, seized 60 vehicles and registered two FIRs in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, a senior police official said.
Sixty vehicles which have been seized were found plying on the road without requisite documents, Senior Superintendent of Police Yougal Manhas said.
Police has registered one FIR each in police station Thanamandi and Dharal against the drivers of two vehicles, who were found indulging in heavy overloading of passengers, thereby posing direct risk to the lives of people.
Manhas has appealed to the people of the district to follow traffic rules and regulations, use helmets, seat belts and take all other precautions while driving on the roads.
