Delhi Police today claimed to have solved a blind murder case of a 19-year-old youth as the force arrested two persons and apprehended a juvenile.
The arrested have been identified as Kiran Kumar (19) and Kamal (22). The Central district police solved the case.
Police have recovered Rs 2.10 lakh out of 3.92 lakh robbed by the accused and one looted scooty.
Police said that in the morning of September 11, the body of a youth was found floating in the Yamuna river.
During checking, it was found that the details of missing person namely Sushil Kumar lodged at Rajouri Garden police station had many similarities with the dead body.
Police said that Kumar, a resident of Paschim Vihar, was employed with one shop dealing in spare parts of Air Conditioner and Refrigerator at Titar Pur in Delhi.
Victim's brother Shankar told police that on September 8, as per the directions of his employer, Sushil was bringing around Rs 3.92 lakh on Scooty from Chandni Chowk. But, he didn't return and his cell phone was also found switched off after 9:45 PM.
During investigation, it was revealed that one Kiran Kumar could be involved in the commission of crime. He was apprehended by the police team.
"Initially, he denied his role in the murder of Sushil. But after sustained interrogation, Kiran admitted having murdered Sushil Kumar along with his friend Kamal on September 8.
"At the instance of Kiran, accused Kamal was apprehended by the police team. They further disclosed that one juvenile who was working with the deceased in same shop tip off them that Sushil used to carry cash from Chandni Chowk to his shop," official said.
They told investigators that on the tip of juvenile, they intercepted the deceased and overpowered him at Karol Bagh in the evening.
"After that they took him to Raghubir Nagar near Najaf Garh drain and stabbed him multiple times and threw him in the drain. After that they fled away from the spot along with the cash and scooty of the deceased," the official added.
