Police team comes under attack by mining mafia

At least 15 people, allegedly involved in illegal mining, today attacked a police team leaving a policeman seriously injured in Bibiganj area here.
Acting on a tip-off about illegal mining activity, a team led by Circle Officer Akhand Pratap Singh raided the place, Additional Superintendent of Police Triveni Singh said.
The police team came under attack by the accused, the officer said, adding that a personnel Mahipal was seriously injured and was rushed to a private hospital.
The ASP said that a case has been registered against 15 persons in this connection and they are absconding.
