The team comprising IG (Prison) Anand Kishore and IG (Headquarters) J S Gangwar questioned the policemen about the entire facts of the custodial death of Maoist Madan Yadav alias Dineshji yesterday, the sources said.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had yesterday ordered a high-level probe by the IG (Prison) and IG (Headquarters) into the custodial death of the naxalite, said to be the sub-zonal commander of a Naxal outfit, and directed the police officials to conduct the probe on the parameters laid down by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
Meanwhile, the deceased naxalite's brother-in-law Tuntun Yadav has alleged that the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sanjay Kumar and Barun police station's Station House Officer (SHO) Arun Kumar had beaten the former to death.
The charge by the naxalite's kin was corroborated by the post-mortem on the body which bore marks of injuries on it, Sadar hospital Civil Surgeon P Bharati said.
A resident of Gaya district, Dineshji was arrested two days ago during a joint operation by Aurangabad and Gaya police from Jogia village in Aurangabad district.
