"We are searching for the accused who were involved in the crime," Jalalabad Deputy Superintendent of Police Amarjit Singh said.
He said the police was looking for the main accused, a minor and resident of Mehlam village, but his house was found locked and the family members were untraceable.
The two other accused in the case remain unidentified.
The girl, a Class 11 student, died of excessive bleeding on the night of October 28, three days after she was raped in a field by the three youths, who had waylaid her while she was returning from her school, according to a complaint filed by the victim's mother.
Police said her viscera samples have been sent to lab for examination.
On the basis of the complaint, a case of murder and gangrape was registered against the three youths.
