Policeman run over by train at Thane station while boarding

A police constable today died after falling on the railway tracks while trying to board a local train this morning.
Constable Lotan Totaram Pawar (46), who was posted at the Kapurbawdi police station in the city, was on leave and heading for his native Chandsar in Dharangaon tehsil of Jalgaon district.
While trying to board a train at platform number 6 at about 9 am, he fell through the gap between the platform and the train, and was run over, railway police said.
He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.
