Police said the girl was run over by the truck and died on the spot prompting angry locals to set fire to damage the vehicle and set on fire a state bus which was near the spot.
When police rushed to the spot, the mob threw stones at them. But none were injured seriously.
The mob also blockaded the road for over four hours which hit movement of vehicles to and from north Bengal.
