Policewomen tie rakhis to traffic violators; ask them to not

The festival of 'Rakshabandhan' was celebrated in a unique manner by Gurgaon policewomen who tied 'rakhis' to traffic offenders and made them promise they would never violate the rules again.
The woman cops celebrated Raksha Bandhan as 'Surakshabandhan', an official said.
"A total of 1,001 violators were found guilty of not wearing helmets, triple loading, red light jumping and over speeding. Women cops tied rakhis on their wrists of and as a token gift, asked them to follow traffic rules under all circumstances to protect themselves and ultimately their families," Ravinder Kumar, (PRO), Gurgaon Police said.
An official said that the number of traffic violations in Gurgaon can be quite high.
Even on a holiday like Rakshabandhan, there were 1,001 violators at ten of the city's inter-sections, sector 4-7 chowk, Huda city center, Jharsha chowk, Kherkidhaula toll plaza, Mahavir chowk, Atul Kataria chowk, Sethi chowk, Pataudi chowk, Basai chowk and Vatika chowk Sohna road.
