Several workers of these outfits were inducted into the party in presence of former minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori at his residence in Kishtwar.
Welcoming them into party fold, Saroori said," Congress is the voice of people. It has always stood for the people and will continue to represent the aspirations of all the sections of the society."
Saroori welcomed their decision to join the Congress party, describing it a "right decision" at a right time.
He expressed hope that with the joining of the new entrants, the Indian National Congress will strengthen its base at the grassroots level in the area.
