The family entertainer also stars Arbaaz Khan and Zarina Wahab in pivotal roles.
The 29-year-old actress, who did not appear in any film post her 2013 "Commando", says she is happy she bagged her new project.
"I had met with an accident and was advised bed rest for six months. Few good projects came my way but things didn't work out. I was looking for something substantial after 'Commando'," Pooja said in a statement.
"Too Much Ho Gaya" is directed by Anwar Khan, who assisted Manmohan Desai in many films.
The movie is complete and slated to release this summer.
