Powerful storms kill 14 in UP

At least 14 people were killed in fierce thunderstorms that struck different parts of Uttar Pradesh last night, officials said here today.
Six people were killed in Jaunpur district, five in Etah and three in Barabanki, they said.
Soni, aged 10, Rohini (4) and Mohini (2), all sisters. were killed and their mother received injuries when a tree uprooted by the storm fell on their house in Ichaulia village.
The high-velocity storm claimed six lives, including that of a 65-year-old man, in Jaunpur district.
Phoola Devi and Virendra, both aged 55, and four others perished in the powerful storm in Etah district, the officials said.
