A PPP delegation, led by Manpreet, called on Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki and submitted a memorandum, claiming that the law and order situation has been deteriorating in the state.
"...What is happening in Punjab is not only alarming but it also poses a serious threat to peace, unity and amity which are crucial in this border state that has suffered due to troubled conditions for more than a decade," the party said in the memorandum.
Spontaneous upsurge over farmers' plight and religious issues is in reality a manifestation of cumulative anger among the masses, Manpreet said.
The party said under the given situation, intervention of the Governor had been sought before the situation went out of hand. The PPP demanded that the Akali Dal-BJP government must be dismissed forthwith and early poll should be held.
