Prachanda will be accompanied by his wife Sita Dahal, according to Maoist sources.
His elder daughter Gyanu KC, who is married in India, is in critical condition as she is suffering from cancer, the sources close to Prachanda said.
The visit programme was finalised suddenly after knowing that his ailing daughter's condition has deteriorated.
The top Maoist leader will meet her daughter at Fortis Hospital in Noida, close to Delhi, where she is receiving treatment for more than a month, according to the sources.
Prachanda's son Prakash has already left for Delhi on Wednesday to meet her sister, the sources said.
The visit is entirely personal and there is no plan for political meetings in Delhi during his stay, sources close to Prachanda said amidst speculation that he might have some political parleys at a time when hectic meetings are underway in Nepal among major parties to decide who will lead the next government.
