Pradhan of Ghazipur dairy farm shot dead

A 33-year-old man was shot dead by some unidentified armed assailants in Gazipur area, police said today.
The deceased, Vinod Rana, was the 'Pradhan' of Gazipur Dairy Farm and lived with his family there.
The incident took place last night when Rana was returning home in his car and some bike-borne armed assailants waylaid him near Gazipur area and opened fire at his car and later fled the spot, a senior police officer said.
Police said Rana was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
"A case has been registered against unknown persons. As per initial investigation, it seems that some personal enmity led to the crime. However, police is investigating the case from all angles and accused would soon be arrested," officer said.

Angry over the incident, some locals blocked National Highway-24 demanding immediate arrest of the culprits. They called off their protest after senior police officials intervened in the matter.
