India will be without the services of H S Prannoy as he has injured his right toe and will not be able to take part in the Thomas Cup starting in Kunshan, China on May 16.
"This is the 8th time India has qualified for the Thomas cup finals and it starts this week in China, but I would be missing this tournament. I injured my right toe two weeks back. I had hurt my toe lightly during a tournament in Singapore," Prannoy told PTI.
"Anyways, it is not a major injury and I have already started training again. Nevertheless, I would be supporting our boys in action."
The Indian team will have four singles players in Ajay Jayaram, B Sai Praneeth and Verma Brothers -- National champion Sameer and runners-up Sourabh.
Prannoy, who had clinched Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold title in March, said she may also skip the Indonesia Super Series Premier starting on May 30.
"I may skip Indonesia as well as I haven't trained much. Lets see," he said.
