Prasar Bharati concerned over fake social media accounts

Fake social media accounts that are issuing information in the name of organisations connected with the Prasar Bharati have caught the attention of the country's public sector broadcaster.
In a statement issued today, Prasar Bharati said that social media has proved to be of immense importance in allowing it to stay connected with its audience.
"However, to our disappointment the open platform is being misused by some miscreants, as they are creating fake accounts and issuing information in our name," it added.
The statement gave a list of of the names of official accounts that are exclusively handled by Prasar Bharati and its constituent bodies.

It said that the Twitter handle for Prasar Bharati is https://twitter.Com/prasarbharati (@prasarbharati).
It also gave details some other of its twitter handles saying the one for DD National (Handle: @DDNational) is https://twitter.Com/DDNational, DD News (Handle: @DDNewsLive) is https://twitter.Com/DDNewsLive.
