Pre-dawn crackdown against criminal elements in UP

In a massive pre-dawn crackdown against criminal elements, Uttar Pradesh police today nabbed 556 persons and recovered illicit weapons, liquor and narcotics.
"The anti-crime drive was launched from 1 AM to 4.30 AM in which 46,604 persons were checked at 7,509 places. While 556 persons were arrested, the police lodged 307 FIRs," ADG (Law and Order) Mukul Goel said.
During the campaign, 46 wanted persons were also arrested and a number of illicit weapons, liquor and narcotic substance recovered from them, he added.
