The upcoming MCD elections will be an "assessment" of works done by the civic bodies of the national capital, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said today and asked the party's sitting councillors to go to the voters with a "positive mindset" and report card of their performance.
The councillors should focus on being responsible towards the people, he said while addressing executive committees of five district units of Delhi BJP.
"Party workers and councillors should keep a positive attitude and present to the people the report card of the works done in their areas. We are accountable to the people and are under no obligation to reply to the criticism of the Opposition," Tiwari said.
"During MCD elections, works done by the municipal corporations will be assessed. The people of Delhi, who are suffering from the mis-governance of the Kejriwal government, will give their verdict," he said.
Party workers will have to go door to door and highlight the "corruption and nepotism" of the Kejriwal government, Tiwari said.
Senior party leaders, including Tiwari, Siddharthan, Shazia Ilmi and Kuljeet Chahaguiding gave guidance to office bearers and party workers during the executive committee meetings of Delhi BJP's New Delhi, West Delhi, Northwest, Northeast and Mehrauli districts.
During BJP's New Delhi district executive committee meeting, Tiwari suggested for ensuring cleanliness in government colonies and that traders do not face any hassle during payment of conversion charges and trade licence.
