President Pranab Mukherjee today condoled the death of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Janardhan Reddy saying he had made significant contribution for welfare and uplift of the underprivileged.
In a condolence message to his wife, N Rajyalakshmi, the President said that Reddy was an esteemed colleague and a dear friend for long years.
"A distinguished Parliamentarian and senior Congress leader, Reddy served the nation in various capacities and made significant contribution towards the cause of the welfare and upliftment of the underprivileged," Mukherjee said in his message.
In Reddy's death, the nation has lost an eminent personality, whose long years in Parliament and public service as legislator, Minister and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh will be always remembered, he said.
