The President received the copy of the book -- "Hashiye Se Mukhyadhara Tak" -- from Rajya Sabha MP and ICCR Chairman Karan Singh who had unveiled it earlier.
Speaking on the occasion, the President said Pahadia had the privilege of witnessing the unfolding of the story of the Indian Republic and how democracy had taken its roots in India.
He said that Pahadia entered the second Lok Sabha as soon as he crossed the minimum bar of eligibility in terms of age (25 years).
He further stated that the capability, commitment and great humility that Pahadia has displayed in the course of his life is a great lesson for all of us.
"He congratulated Pahadia on his accomplishment and wished him a long, healthy and eventful life," a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said.
