"The act was not committed because of scolding by a senior official but because of pressure at the home front," the Union Women and Child Development Minister said.
However, at the same time, Tirath said that she has asked the Secretary, who had scolded her during a meeting, to tone down her reactions and work calmly.
On July 23, Rugmini Parmar, economic advisor in the ministry, allegedly slashed her wrist and was rushed to RML hospital. She was later released after the first aid.
"She had delayed rate of clearance of proposals under the Swadhar scheme and also had signed some affidavits without reading them. That is why she was pulled up by the Secretary. There is nothing personal against her. And then I also need the work to be done," said Tirath here.
"I have also directed the Secretary to tone down her reactions and get the work done calmly," Tirath said.
When asked why an inquiry was not ordered, Tirath said that Parmar herself had told them that there was no need for a probe.
