Priest booked for sodomising minor boy

A 52-year-old priest, attached to a local church here, has allegedly sodomised a minor boy, police said today.
According to the police, the incident took place on November 27 and an FIR in this regard was lodged by the parents of the 13-year-old victim yesterday.
The accused has been identified as Father Johnson Lawrence and is absconding from the last night, DCP (Detection), Dhananjay Kulkarni, told PTI.
The church is situated in Shivaji Nagar area of Govandi, police said.
"We have booked the Father under relevant sections of IPC and our hunt for him is on," Balasaheb Jadhav, Shivaji Nagar police station inspector, said.

The boy was interrogated and sent for medical test today, the officer said adding that further investigations are on.
