Primary teacher association leader dies

Biresh Sikdar, who was Jalpaiguri district secretary of the All Bengal Primary Teachers' Association for long 36 years, died today, family sources said.
Survived by his wife, Sikdar (64) was also a member of the ABPTA state committee from 2007 to 2013.
Sikdar had suffered a heart attack on December 25 and was admitted to a private nursing home in Siliguri where he died this morning.
CPI(M) leader and former minister Ashok Bhattacharya and ABPTA leaders paid their respect to the departed at the hospital.
