Prince Charles, Camilla pay tribute to Commonwealth soldiers

British Royal couple, Prince Charles and wife Camilla who are on a nine-day visit to India, today paid tribute to soldiers from Commonwealth countries who fought World Wars I and II at a cemetery at Khadki near here.
Charles, accompanied by the Duchess of Cornwall, placed a wreath at the memorial of war veterans and interacted with the staff involved in the upkeep of the cemetery, run by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
The Royal couple was given a tour of the cemetery after attending a short act of remembrance. They later paid a visit to the Serum Institute of India at Hadapsar near here and saw the manufacturing facilities there.
Charles also attended a reception organised at the Royal Western India Turf Club and interacted with business leaders and entrepreneurs.
Heavy security was maintained throughout the programme of the royal dignitaries by local police and other agencies.
