Prisoner's death sparks violence

Angry over the death of an inmate apparently due to absence of medical aid, prisoners in the district jail here today attacked the staff injuring some of them.
A prisoner fell ill seriously inside jail premises and died, police sources said adding the inmates alleged he died due to absence of medical aid.
Heated arguments ensued between the prionsers and the jail officials leading to violence in which some staffers were injured, the sources said.
Jail minister Rajendra Choudhary said the situation was under control and the DIG (Prison) had been asked to conduct a probe.
Choudhary said he had directed the officials to take strict action against all those found guilty.
