Three weeks after the convoys of two Union ministers were attacked in Odisha's Bargarh, an administrative probe into the incident got into motion today.
Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), northern division, has been directed by the state government to conduct inquiry into the "unlawful" incidents which occurred during the visit of Union Minister Santosh Gangwar on June 24.
Besides Gangwar, another Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and senior BJP leaders were on way to attend a party meeting when BJD workers allegedly attacked the convoy with stones in which three vehicles including that of Gangwar were damaged.
The terms of reference of the inquiry includes analysis of genesis and sequence of events leading to the incident; role, conduct and responsibility of persons leading to the incidents and timely and appropriate administrative/ police action or lapses, if any, the RDC's office said in a press note.
People who wish to furnish information on this can file affidavit either in person or through post before the secretary to the RDC from July 16 to 19, it said adding the affidavits submitted during this period can be verified by interested persons on July 20 and counter affidavits may be filed on July 21.
Persons interested to give oral evidence regarding the incidents may do so before the RDC (north) at Sambalpur on July 28 during office hours, it said.
