Mohammad Kadir (41), a proclaimed offender, was arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police yesterday after the cops got a tipoff that he would be coming towards Sarai Kale Khan and laid a trap, a senior police officer said.
In order to earn his livelihood, Kadir, a native of Bulandshahr of Uttar Pradesh, now a resident of Khadda Colony in Delhi's Jaitpur area, became a property dealer and dealt with disputed properties.
Later, along with other associates, he formed a gang and committed dacoities and robberies from 2000 to 2005 in Delhi, the officer said, adding that he was involved in seven cases of robbery in Pandav Nagar, Shakar Pur, Welcome, New Friends Colony, Bhajan Pura, Kalkaji and Ambedkar Nagar areas of the national capital.
