Congress today organised a protest rally here on the Rafale deal issue, saying that the price of the deal need not be kept a secret.
Addressing the gathering, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy saidas a former Indian Air Force pilot, he knewthat there was no basis for the Centre to keep the price of Rafale aircraft a secret.
The previous Congress-led UPA Government had always revealed the cost of purchase of fighter jets, though operational details were kept a secret, he said.
Congress had on July 27 alleged that the Rafale deal was the biggest example of crony capitalism by the Modi government and that "national interest" was compromised by helping a private entity to the tune of crores of rupees in violation of rules.
