Two accused named in the FIR registered in connection with the October 2 attack were arrested today. In protest, the locals blocked Nagra road in Sikandarpur, halting the idol immersion procession, ASP K C Goswami said.
The protesters claimed that innocent people were being rounded up and harassed, he said, adding that senior police officials assured the agitators that no innocent person would be arrested in the case.
As Yadav rushed to the area on getting the news, he was also attacked and both were admitted to community health centre.
Four persons were named in an FIR registered in connection with the matter.
