A large number of school children donning uniforms boycotted the classes and took out protest rallies in Kunjwani area of the city to protest against the gang-rape of the young paramedical student.
Similar protest rally was taken by over 200 students on Jammu-Akhnoor road in the city. They shouted slogans and demanded hanging of the culprits.
No untoward incident was reported from anywhere during these protests, police said.
The girl was raped allegedly by six men in a moving bus, which had tinted glass and curtains on it on Sunday night.
