Providing news without bias a big challenge: Joshi

Uttar Pradesh Governor B L Joshi today said that in this era of commercialisation providing news without colour or bias was a big challenge and responsibility.
"Newspapers work as a reflection of the society. Today providing news without adding colour is a challenge but PTI has maintained its credibility and executes its function of providing news without exaggeration," the Governor said after inaugurating the Annual General Meeting of Federation PTI Employees' Unions.
"All the newspapers are related to some or the other commercial side. In such a situation required unbiased reporting is a challenging job. In this responsibility of the PTI increases. PTI is serving the country by providing unbiased reports to all the newspapers," he added.
Joshi said that it was expected from the PTI that it maintains its brilliance and should decide the future course after open deliberation in this meeting.
General Secretary of Federation of PTI Employees' Unions M S Yadav said that after a long struggle the mediapersons have won the legal battle for implementation of the recommendations of the Majithia wageboard.
The apex court verdict should be honoured by all newspaper managements and implemented keeping in mind the welfare of the workers, he said.
Lucknow Mayor Dinesh Sharma was also present.
